The Office of Safe Environment is looking for in-person Safe Environment Facilitators to support this vital ministry by providing child abuse prevention training throughout the Diocese of Syracuse. This is a volunteer position.The Safe Environment program focuses on effectively addressing issues of child sexual abuse when they arise, as well as reducing risks to our children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
To be considered for the role of Safe Environment Facilitator, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be age 21 or older
Have current Safe Environment training credentials
Submit a completed application with three (3) references
Attend a full-day Safe Environment Facilitator training session
Applicants must attend one of the Safe Environment Facilitator training sessions offered on:
Saturday, September 20, 2025, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Chancery in Syracuse, NY.
Wednesday, October 1, 2025 , 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in Binghamton (location TBD)
Parking, mileage reimbursement, and lunch will be provided.
