Most Rev. Thomas J. Costello, retired Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Syracuse, died on Friday, February 15, 2019, at the age of 89 years old. Bishop Costello served the people of the diocese as a Roman Catholic priest for nearly 65 years as well as serving as the auxiliary bishop for over 40 years.

Most Rev. Thomas J. Costello, retired Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Syracuse died today, Friday, February 15, 2019 at the age of 89 years old.  A native of Camden, New York, Bishop Costello served as a priest of the diocese for nearly 65 years and as auxiliary bishop for over 40 years.

During the past weeks, I have received numerous letters from many of you expressing your grief, anger and frustration over the abortion policy passed by our state legislature and signed into law by Governor Cuomo. I share your sorrow and fury.
