Allison Spaulding is the Vice President of Foster Care and Evidence-Based Programs at The House of Good Shepherd in Utica, NY.
With extensive experience working with children and families since 2002, Ms. Spaulding has provided home-based clinical services to at-risk children and families, including those impacted by sexual abuse. In 2006, she became Program Director of the Family Transitions Program, where she managed a specialized community-based treatment program for families affected by sexual abuse, with a focus on children exhibiting sexually inappropriate behaviors.
In 2011, Ms. Spaulding was promoted to Director of Residential and Community-Based Programming, specializing in sexual abuse services. She was responsible for overseeing two critical care residential programs for adolescent males with trauma histories and sexual acting-out behaviors. By 2013, Ms. Spaulding’s role expanded to include the management of youth residential programming and county-funded community-based programs. Her responsibilities included overseeing nine “Critical Care” level residential programs, an Agency-Operated Boarding Home, a 14-bed Emergency Respite Program, a 12-bed Non-Secure Detention Center, a family visitation program, and a discharge and support services program for residential youth. She also supervised specialized sexual abuse services for residential and community-based programs serving 72 youth and families in Onondaga County.
Ms. Spaulding has experience co-facilitating adult sex offender treatment groups and providing counseling to adult sex offenders. She is a Children and Families Institute for Research, Support and Training (FIRST) trainer for Fordham University and serves on the Onondaga County District Advisory Council.
Ms. Spaulding holds a Master’s in Social Work from Syracuse University.
